Preparing for our trip to bring Ava home...
Now that we are certain to be leaving soon, the last minute preparations begin. We have had plenty of time to think about traveling considering that we have been in this last phase of the process for 6 long months. Over the last year and half we have collected several toys, dolls, blankets, etc. and are now deciding what to bring and what to leave here. We have decided to wrap some of the special items so that Ava can open them and hopefully realize that they belong to her. Can you imagine a three year old child who has never in her life had a toy or item of her very own? We are told that if we don't bring clothes to the orphanage on the day she leaves, she would leave completely naked and without a single thing. We are also preparing picture cards with images of basic needs; a bed, food, toilet, etc. so that she can use them to communicate her needs to us. Thanks for the encouraging comments on our blog. We love reading them and are thankful that so many of you are going on this journey with us!
~ Notice Zoe is the back of the picture going through Ava's toy box. This is sure to soon be the story of our life. Zoe has only child syndrome pretty badly.
We have our Letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay, yay, yay! We received word today that our letter is out of Kazakhstan and is in the states which means that we should have our visas in the next couple days. We can't believe it! This should be our last full week of being baby free. James and I both joke that we wont feel completely joyous until we are actually on the plane so thanks for continued prayer.

Like a Broken Record....
We found out that there was another "problem" with our LOI so it had to go back to the region to be re-issued. That's been done and the LOI is already on its way back to Astana. It should be there this coming Monday so hopefully it will be finalized around March 4th (another 7 working days). After that, like I've said many times before, our visas will be issued and we'll be on our way.
Thanks so much for your continued prayers! One of these days it WILL happen...

Almost There... Third Time's a Charm!
We found out today that KAZ needs another 7 (working) days to process our LOI while they complete the necessary background checks. After that the KAZ Embassy in DC will need 2-3 days to get us our visas. Then we FLY; this puts us leaving at the end of February.
Please pray that we can keep to this timeline from here on out! Currently there are children who are eligible for adoption, but please pray that they will still be available when we get cleared to travel. The good news is that we won't be there in the dead of winter and it should start to warm up while we're over there.
Thank you all for your support. We'll post again in a couple weeks.
