Almost There... Please Pray.

Just a quick update:

We did hear that Sveta is back in the region and back to work. Please continue to pray for her as it must be tough to return to work after her recent loss.

The ONLY thing we're waiting for is for KAZ to release our LOI to the embassy in DC so we can get our visas issued; once this happens we can be leaving within a few days! This last step seems so little, but at the same time it seems to be keeping us so far from KAZ.

Your prayers are very much appreciated! Hopefully next time we post it will be with very exciting news...

Our Translator, Sveta and our expected travel date

Today we got sad news from our agency that our translator's father passed away. Sveta has been the link to our baby for over a year now and, although we have not met her yet, we feel connected to her and are saddened for her loss. What this means for us is that our trip should be delayed a couple weeks or so. We pray for Sveta and her family that they will be comforted in this time. We are also praying that this will not delay us in our journey to bring Ava home. We'll get an update soon.

We're going private.

So we're still scheduled to travel around the 20th! Please continue to pray as we are still waiting for a few things to be worked out before we can travel.

In preparation for our upcoming trip we'll be making our blog private; this means that unless we add your email address to an approved list you can't see our blog (this will happen sometime in the next week or so). We'll try to all of our family and friends, but please email us your email address so we can make sure to add you.

Merry Christmas Eve to Us...

We got a call on this Christmas Eve morning that our travel date is officially the 20th of January! We found out that we are less than a month away from travel just after we finished opening gifts at home. The best gift was saved for last! Thanks for your prayers as these next few weeks will be busy and potentially stressful. May God bless your Christmas season.

Christmas blessings to you and your family! We are filled with excitement in our home knowing that our trip is just about 1 month away. Since two of our previous trips were cancelled last minute we do ask for continued prayer that our travel plans continue to move forward without delay.

Our New Letter of Invitation

Hello All,
Our prayers have been answered and we have been granted a Letter of Invitation for the end of January 2009. What a wonderful way to start the new year! We know this time that there are girls available and we are so excited to meet the little one whose picture we received a few weeks ago. As always, when dealing with a foreign country, plans are subject to change. But at this point our trip looks promising and we are beginning our preparations to leave. We hope that you and your family are enjoying this Christmas season as we are.

We have received another photo of an available little girl who is healthy and also available in January. She is just beautiful! We are anxious to get our letter of invitation now!
