First Visit:
We are not sure what was going on when we walked up to Darina's group this morning but there was a room full of very unhappy kidos. I think they were getting sponge baths. Since our first visit is pretty short, we just relaxed, let the tears dry, and watched some Baby Genius DVDs.
Oh, and we did some drawing too :-)
Second Visit:
Yes, we did go outside without our huge coat today!
Cute
Another group of kids came out to play while we were outside. Darina was a little overwhelmed but she had fun!
Non-Baby Related Pictures:
In the Spring they paint the bottom of the trees white to protect them from bugs.
This is the oldest building in Pavlodar. Isn't it beautiful?! It is now an art museum.
Who would have thought they'd have Mexican food in Kazakhstan. Not only do they have some Mexican food, but it's delicious! This is a plate of Fajitas...yummy!

Thanks so much for these updates and the beautiful pics. She is such a beautiful child. My fave this time is the one with James and Darina. Keep them coming, they are very much appreciated. Hang in there ... you will be home soon.

Oh man I wish I had good ideas but everything I can think of would require going out and purchasing stuff-and I am sure the last thing you need is more stuff to pack up and bring home! And though I am sure it is getting old for you-I doubt she could get enough of anything you are doing! But I guess I will share my ideas just incase-Play doh-Legos (the big block ones for the litle people)-Dress Up-Dolls-Tea Parties-I am sure they all sound like soo much fun regardless-) Good luck-Hang in there-I will pray that you guys come home soon because lets be honest its pool weather and thats way better than any in door games! You guys are so close! At any point will they release her to you so she can live with you guys even out there in your apartment?
I wonder if you could play dress up? With clothes and hats and adult shoes. I don't think it matters whether they're your clothes or some you buy from the bazaar. And I'm not sure why, but toddlers sure seem to enjoy clomping around in adult shoes.
Sending you warm wishes from Austin. Susan
