Progress
In preparation for leaving for Kaz our agency director told us that even the best orphanage in the world is still worse than the worst family. At the time we found this hard to believe but now that we have had the chance to see how very far Darina has come in the short time we have been able to spend with her, we are starting to see some truth to his statement. I think we greatly underestimated the power of the family unit. We thank you for continued prayers for her progess and for our time with her. We are seeing truly remarkable changes in her. Here are some pictures from our last few days. We got permission to take her outside today which was lots of fun. It's getting colder again in Pavlodar. Happy Easter!

Oh my goodness! She is so gorgeous. You guys look great together. I don't know if Jennifer told you or not, but I have twin boy cousins, both about 8 years old. One has cerebral palsy and the other one doesn't, but you can't tell much of a difference between them. The one with cp is a great artist, learns quickly, and is just as intelligent as his brother. They are both about to receive their black belts in taekwondo. They also are the best behaved boys I have ever seen!
I'm so happy for you guys. My prayers are with you.

Oh my word - she is just adorable. That first picture with that big smile - you even put words to that kind of happiness. What an amazing experience you are having. We too have adopted a child with special needs and I cannot even begin to tell you what a difference a strong family unit does for these children. My little boy has made such improvments that the doctors don't dare give him limitations anymore. You two are such wonderful people and will make amazing parents. I continue to pray for you both.
