James was a super Dad today and worked very hard with Darina on her sticker book! She loved playing with stickers almost as much as she loves coloring.
Today Darina had "swimming lessons" which is really therapy that strengthens her muscles and encourages her to use her right hand and leg more. No swimsuits are required for swimming at the baby house :-)
On our daily stroll outside we ran into Darina's new group and her caretakers.
You will notice that Butterflies is spelled incorrectly on her pant leg. Baby clothes in Kaz are mostly from Japan or China and often have misspelled English words on it.
This is our friend Emma who volunteers at the Baby House and who has worked with Darina for the past year.
As much as we love our driver, Ilyia, he is consistently about 15-20 minutes late to pick us up or drop us off. So...with our spare time we take silly pictures of ourselves and of dogs...
We have proudly learned about 40 words in Russian since we've been here. Dog in Russian is "Sabaca" and "Eat" in Kazak.

Hi Guys, you are making progress very good! Each day is a gift, great to see they have swimming therapy, we have had very hot weather and today it is cooler. Ava D. is going to enjoy the warmth of the sun and the big pool you have at Ladera Ranch... I can hear her say I"I live at Ladera Ranch!", Katie use to say when she was four, I live at Sea Breeze! time is coming when you will be home!
Love you, Aunt Kristie
I can tell how much Darina is improving just by the pictures! I love the picture of her doing her sticker book! She looks so darn cute with stuff in her hair! :)
How are swimming lessons going? She looks terrified in her picture. Daddy James looks like he is doing a good job making her use her right hand. Gosh court date come now! I want you guys home.
She loved the swimming lessons! That pictures was after her session, so she might have been wondering why we got out of the pool. Miss you and we're ready to be home too! Love you!
I think I may know a place where you can get some free swim lessons when you get home!!! Praying for you guys everyday!
