We believe that the complications with us trying to visit the other orphanage have been resolved and we should be able to visit the children tomorrow. We know that you are all anxious to hear of our adoption decisions and we will update everyone as soon as we can. In the meantime, enjoy some more pictures from our time in Pavlodar.
Pavlodar's Big Ben
There are many of these old homes in Pavlodar. They do not have central heat or running water.
This is a picture of Sveta and Iliya's son Danny with his friend Valaria waiting to see The Wizard of Oz on ice. Sveta is always asking Danny to say hello to us in English and he always responds with "Neit, Neit, Neit" (no, no, no). Before the show he finally told his mom that he was ready to say hello to us and as we were walking towards him he told his mom to hold his hand. What a brave little boy!

Kari ... you look so lovely out there in front of "Big Ben". Your smile is so beautiful. All the pics are so interesting to us over here ... to see what it is like there. A little bit! Nice to see Sveta's boy! I'll bet they had fun at the ice show.
Waiting with you ...

and Great G'pa Jim!
I know times have been hard for you guys but every email, even if delivering discouraging news, still shows your hope. You both have been so strong in this process and I can only pray that God will bless you because of it. I love seeing pictures of your life over there. It seems like you guys are trying to make the best out of your situation. I love you guys and I am praying for you daily. Keep your spirits high and know that everyone back here is praying for you and cannot wait for the day when report that you have met Ava!
Sister Bear has said everything I wanted to say, but better, so I won't say it again. I will say this again... my love and prayers are with you 24/7.
Good morning you two! Today certainly has the potential to be a very exciting one... we all can't wait to hear how your Monday goes. We continue to pray for and think about you daily. Hopefully you got the pictures from Rae Lynn's wedding--everyone missed you very much but all are excited for you at the same time. Padres opening day is tomorrow (today for you) against those dreaded Dodgers. Go Padres! I love you both and can't wait for your next update. Dad
Hi Kari and James, good to hear the news today might prove to be fruitful. This experience will change your lives forever and in a good way. Isn't God's world interesting! Wonderful that you two got this opportunity to see it. You look good my sweet Kari, give James a hug. All our Love!
Aunt Kristie
Yay for Wizard of Oz on ice! Kar, your mom told me that you'd never seen the Wizard of Oz growing up so you were a little confused with the plot...I could just picture you being like, what the hoot is this? It made me smile :)
Love love love you guys!
