The Waiting Game...

It is almost the end of another very tough week for us. We want to briefly update you on our current situation. The more time we were able to spend with sweet little Darina, the more information came out about her medical history. We were communicating with a Dr. in the US and the information we learned from her left us feeling afraid and more uncertain about pursuing adopting her. We decided that we wanted to meet all adoptable children before making any final decisions. We are waiting to go visit another orphanage, just outside the city, but before we do so we need to get some paper work signed off. We have been waiting all week for the papers to be signed and hope that we’ll be in the orphanage by tomorrow. We are trying our best to keep high spirits during this difficult time of waiting. We believe that Ava is here and we know that she is worth the wait! Thanks you for your prayers for our family. This is what we have been up to this week as we wait to visit the next orphanage.

Our favorite restaurant in Kazakhstan. We eat here pretty much everyday. They have delicious soup, pizza, pasta, and salad!

We took Svetlana bowling for the first time in her life. Kari won both games for the record. Svetlana has been teaching us Russian during the time we spend with her. We are learning basic words that help us get by when we don't have her with us.

We are getting really good at Hearts and other computer card games.

We've been snacking and watching movies. One of the ingredients in this snack is "Edible dry stuff."

We have been going on walks. We walk by the river, to coffee, and to the mall. Pavlodar is warming up and the weather is perfect for walking.

Hi, I just wanted to send a smile from sunny Austin, Texas. Please know that you're not alone and your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

If I may ask, which agency are you with? It sounds like they're trying to take care of you.

Best, Susan

Hi Kari and James!
You two have won the award for patience and faith! We are praying that your visit to the other orphanage is a positive one. We love you and are enjoying your pictures. We thank God for your translators who have been taking care of you emotionally and physically. We moved your car outside the garage this morning and when Zoe heard the car lock, she ran to the door to look for you! She loves you and misses you too! Much love, Mom

Susan- Thanks for the warm wishes from Austin. We are going through God's Families International Adoption Agency. Yes, they have been wonderful to work with and their staff in country is incredible.

Sandy- Thanks for checking in on us and for all your prayers.

Aunt Kristie - We are so thankful for all your emails and comments. We feel so supported and loved. We are missing you all and are praying for Grandpa and his treatment.

Mom- I almost cried when I hear about Zoe and the car beep! I miss that little puppy so much! We also think we should get an award for patience! We are getting very sick of being patient actually. I love you so much and miss you more than you know!
