Another Day With Ava D.

We are now 9 days away from court! Not that we're counting or anything :-) We had a wonderful day with our little Darinka today.

The children can't really go outside without their head covered so they now need to wear these lovely bandannas but in our opinion, she can make just about anything look cute:

Today James left his sunglasses in the visiting room after our first visit. We texted Peggy to leave them for us behind the couch since she visits her son right after us. When we got back for our second visit we found a note behind the couch that lead all three of us on a scavenger hunt around the room. Along the way to James' glasses we collected a lolly pop for Ava and two sleeping masks for us:

A local group of Kazakh women sew quilts for the children at the baby home and are selling these adorable bag as a fundraiser. They are currently raising money for a second sewing machine; right now they all share one. These women are doing a great thing for the orphans of Pavlodar. Their special project right now is to sew heart quilts for the children in the infirmary. We bought two and told the women that we would see if anyone back home is also interested. They are selling for $15. If you live close to us we will deliver them when we return, otherwise, add another $5 to the price and we'll ship it to you when we get home. Email us within the week if you are interested. Blessings!

The bags are roughly 10 inches across and 8 inches tall (without the handles).

We can do our best to pass on any color preferences.

Each bag has this traditional Kazakh symbol on the front and back.
