Well, Ava is feeling much better and doing well. Here is your cute Ava story of the day: When we first met Ava she never cried when she'd fall down or get hurt. Since our time together, she's learned that Mama and Dada comfort her when she falls down and thus has started crying when she hurts herself. Now that she's such a wonderful walker she doesn't fall nearly as often but is realizing that she misses the attention we'd give her after she falls. Lately when Ava even slightly bumps into something or hurts herself she immediately starts rubbing her head so we'll come to her. She does all this with a huge smile on her face b/c she knows it's just too cute to resist!
We just got home from playing games with Peggy and Jan and had a rather interesting cab ride home. Once our driver found out that we were Americans, he proceeded to rattle off the name of every American celebrity he could think of. We tried to act impressed as he gave us the thumbs up after every actor/actress he successfully named.
We are taking things day by day here in Kaz. We are trying hard to stay strong for Ava and for each other although we are terribly homesick and drained in every way imaginable. Thanks for praying for us.
Ava always forgets to smile for family photos
But when we aren't taking family photos she's full of smiles.
Ava is sporting her new summer outfit. Her top is actually a dress for 3-6 month olds but we thought it would make a cute shirt for her. She likes when Mama points to the monkey on it and makes silly noises.

Fun to watch Ava grow from an orphanage baby to a normal little girl, knowing what it takes to get attention and being so darn cute at it. Looking forward to seeing her in action very soon.
Love, Grandma (of course I look forward to see you guys also very soon)
I like using the dress for a shirt, bella still fits into small clothes like that too very slow growere and tiney eater. How is Ava's appetite? What does Ava like to eat? What is her favorite food. Do the kids get candy much. It would be nice to have her be a fruit and vegetable eater. She is so tiny your dad calls her a little peanut! Love you and miss you.

You two have to be the strongest people in the world. Kudos on staying focused and taking things day by day. I can tell you I think I would have broke by now! Hang in there!
I love that Ava has learned that you show affection when she is hurt- and that she wants that affection! That shows you are bonding wonderfully! :)
Take care!
I love her outfit! What is the count down now till you get to come home? Hang in there! You guys are doing great! I am so amazed!
Surely God MUST have a good reason for these incredible delays. It would be so interesting to know just what they are. Maybe someday, in the future, they will come to light and we can just be thankful that HE is still in control of our lives and of the entire universe. Thanks be to God for His many, many blessings and his grace.
Love, Sandra Sherritt
If I've done my math right you should hopefully be taking your beloved Ava out of the baby house today. Congratulations and God Bless you both. When she is old enough to understand just how much you went through to make her your own she will know how loved she truly is. You are an inspiration to all adoptive families.
Happy Family Day!
Lou Ann & Lexie too
Ava gets more and more beautiful every day! I liked your funny cab story. Miss you guys and love you mucho!
